Hey esk,

After what I have gone through, I would definitely buy a certified car if I had the choice between one that was certified and one that wasn't. Look here what you get: http://www.saabcertified.com/default.asp

Diehard - guess you could say that. I have always liked the Saabs and always wanted to own and drive them. The thing is that every car make from BMW, Porsche, Toyota to KIA, Jeep etc. will have their share of problems, and it depends what you are willing to put up with and what you want to drive. There are plenty of Saabs out there that never have any problems - but do you ever hear of them? No, because it is so much easier to voice negative opinions than positive ones, so even if there are happy customers out there, they do not usually voice how happy they are with their cars. Guess you could also go to MSN Carpoint and look at the user comments for the cars you are interested in and see how they rate against each other: http://autos.msn.com/home/reliability_ratings.aspx?src=LeftNav

saab 9-3: 8.3 of 10
BMW 3-series: 9.0 of 10
Acura TL: 9.1
Audi A4: 9.1
Jeep Gr Cher 7.7
Honda Accord 9.0
VW Passat 8.8
Jaguar S-Type 8.5

The Saab is not exactly the leader here, but it is a great car to drive and to own! Good luck to you!

Regards,

Jonny
