I've read on here (I think it was Dean) that there is a smell of "burnt epoxy" associated with DI cassette failure. My 01 9-3 w/ 72K is still on it's original, and I'm expecting it to die soon (don't they all?). So now everytime I smell something similar to what "burnt epoxy" might smell like (since I have no idea what it DOES smell like), I get worried that it's about to crap out on me.

My question is this: is the burnt epoxy smell before or after the actual failure? If I smelled something while driving, might that be a warning of an impending failure?
