Mike & Mel,
I did the bouncing test and yes it bounces up and down when I push down the right side. Left side definately doesn't and doesn't have problem while driving. The right side bottoms out very easily unlike left side. I guess i need a new shock on the right side.
Is it okay to replace just right side at this time or if I replace the shocks, should I do both sides? And, I looked up lots of posts here and understand there are other things to replace too like strut mounts and bearings and bushings. I know it'll cost a lot more money than I would like, but once I fix the front suspension I want it to last long and wouldn't have to worry about it for years to come.
Among other things, I know strut insert (shock), strut mount, and bearing, but what other bushings should I replace? I'd appreciate if you have part #'s or specific names. To clarify what I want, I'm not going for better performance here more than reliability and durability. I won't have much time and money to work on performance for next four or five years or so.
Mel, can you tell me what you mean by 'funky' about Bilstein sports? Cuz, I ordered them already because I couldn't find HD in stock anywhere. I don't mind a little hard ride cuz I'm planning to go for 16" wheels once I run out of current tires with horribly bent Viggen rims. I hope that would make the ride less harsh once done.
Should I go for Bilstein sports with mount, bearing, and bushings replacements or just replace right side with original shock and mount, bearing and bushings on the right side? Definately the latter would cost less money, but if I would have to spend more money on the left side later on, I would rather fix both sides now.
I really appreciate your help cuz I have to put down a major money here. Thanks once again...
