Tell them the proper torque for this plug on your 9³ is 18-22 ft/lbs, & for the C900 it's 21-29 ft/lbs. Any less & the heating/cooling cycles will loosen the plug, while more will cause the steel threads of the plug to seize against the aluminum threads of the pan. When seizing happens, the bolt head usually rounds off before the threads loosen their grip. Also, make sure they're using a copper washer ("sealing gasket") on the plugs. It not only creates a seal, but also provides a "sacrificial" bearing surface so that the bolt head doesn't dig into the aluminum pan.
It's easy to generate double the torque required on these plugs, & using an air-rachet sorta hammers the plug in as well. I don't know at what point the aluminum threads give way, but I do know that constant over-torquing will accumulate yield stress in the threads, causing failure that much sooner.
