For a car that's great in the winter, my Saab sits home when it's really cold out because the heated seats STINK. Instead I'll take my RWD C320 because at least it can keep me toasty warm. However, if it's snowing, the Benz has to sit in the garage because even with snows it's no match for the Saab.
The heated seats in the C320 work similar to the Saab -- they're also automatic. They has 2 settings. One is super hot, which then cools off, like the Saab, but doesn't shut off. Instead it will go down to a lower setting, which still keeps you warm. But nothing compares to the heated seats in my first car, a '95 Audi 90Q. On the highest setting those seats would scorch your backside, even through a coat!
I was suprised that for the company that invented heated seats, the heated seats in my Saab were so lacking. At least the new 9-3s got the heated seats right!
Good luck -- it's an adjustment...
