No Saab in working order just loses control. It's as simple as that. With proper tires they are great cars in the snow. You probably didn't have tires on that were suited for the conditions.

Either way you were going too fast for the grip available.

I'm curious what you mean by slide. Did it understeer or oversteer? Meaning, did the car just continue straight ahead or kick the rear around?
