Everyones driving profile is different. With engine/trany/tires fully warmed up and at speed on the highway, clear the sid and see what you get at a steady speed. That is the only thing that you can expect to compare from one time to another or to another vehicle. Clearing the SID in this way elimates the warmup fuel penalty. If you get good MPGs with this method, then you know that the system is working well.

Head AND side winds decrease MPGs. High ethanol fuels may cut MPGs by 5-6%, increasing your fuel costs beyond the posted price at the pump.

Tires soft? Air added to compensate for the cold weather/season? Soft tires eat fuel. Soft tires also lead to bent wheels on Viggens! You should run at a higher pressure than recommended to defend the wheels. Brakes or p-prake dragging?

Mobil 1 0W40 will help VS 10W30 or non-synthetics.

Check plugs and clean injectors. Use a fuel system cleaner. Use Techron Concentate if you can find it at a Chevron dealer. Must be "Concentrate"

Plugs: Canadian fuels, used to be anyways, had additives that were hard on plugs, injectors and O2 sensors (perhaps cats too). So I would not be surprised if plugs did not remain clean on that fuel. My 95SET plugs ran cleaner on US fuels compared to CDN fuels.

Please post miles. Less MPGs with a automatic than a manual.
