I have a 99 9-3 S and have had only 2 problems with it. (1) Left rear wheel sensor went out. $230 for a replacement sensor/wheel hub. (2) Pass. side inner driver on the transmission end of the drive shaft (holds the inner CV joint) went out (Saab technician couldn't figure out why). Caused wobbling turning left under power. Cost about $500 for parts and labor. The car now drives like new. I will be getting an upgraded rear sway bar because the body roll if pretty uncomforable if you an in the back seat.
