I have a 1999 Saab 9-3 with 77,xxx miles on it. Yesterday evening, the car just straight quit on me. it simply will not start. After doing some research on this message board, I think it's either a bad DI or a bad fuel pump. I checked all of my fuses and they look fine, the car cranks but will not turn over. I pulled my rear seats up and listened for a whirling sound, and I heard it what sounded like the power antenna motor spinning on startup and also heard a whirrling when I released the key back to on from the start position. The in dash computer says running tests, then test brake lights, but doesn't say anything is wrong. So I am thinking a bad DI, when I looked at my DI this morning, I noticed that both of the driver side screws were missing from it, and the passanger side screws the one closest to the firewall was tight but the one closest to the front of the car was loose, I tightened the rear screw and moved the other to the front driver side spot, do those screws do anything for grounding that missing two would cause my car not to start, or could this have caused the problem?
