Think about it. How many cracked pistons have you heard of with C900 or 9000 areos, even after some of us run very high boost for years? Someone said the groove for the top piston ring was raised to help with emissions. That would weaken the top area. Someone else said the software somehow screws up and allows firing too early.
It's my opinion that the condition of the spark plugs might have something to do with it. If the ecu relies so heavily on ionic sensing (while not sparking) to sense cylinder pressures, what happens if the plug is dirty or has widened gap? The ecu won't get the correct reading for cyl pressures/knocking.
