We do need to know what you are driving: '01 SE 5 spd,70k miles,new plugs,K&N.

Clean the TB and lube the shaft pivots with a drop of oil at each (from the inside). A soft cloth with a mild solvent works well.

Examine the MAF contacts, perhaps reseating will help. Reseating contacts sometimes fixes problems. Check wires for damage (mice).

Was the code cleared to see if it came back?

A leak in the air ducting downstream of the MAF could create this problem.

So inspect all of that including IC end tanks. Examine the VAC lines around the TB including the large one to the evap control system solenoid valve. TB feed pipe clamped ok?

Air filter a mess?

Pull the MAF and examine visually. Dirt deposits? Clean with plastic safe electronic spray cleaner. Must be an non-residual type and not one that has lubrication properties. Clean over a clear of white glass bowl to examine what crud comes out. A old tooth brush can help release dirt impinged on the upstrean wire screen. I have not had one of these open. Often there is a screen. So not attempt to remove screems and do not touch the sensors inside.

WIS implies that this code self clears....

Detected at off boost conditions, so not a boost pressure leak. The ECU sees that its adaption suggests a conflict with normal MAF signal ranges, but the ECU is adapting to this ok. The ECU has not done adaption adjustement factors that would trigger an adaption CEL. A dirty MAF could have its signal shifted by dirt on its sensor.
