This is why I NEVER take my car to these places (Firestone, Goodyear, Jiffy Lube, Midas, etc etc etc). I don't think he was a "real nice guy who meant very well", I think he was an incompetent poorly trained individuals that take little or no responsibility for making mistakes.

Everytime I've had a problem at one of these places (this is how I learned to avoid them) the mechanic who worked on the car REALLY didn't care, the manager BARELY cared, and honestly in all instances they just wanted my money and didn't care if I returned or not.

There was always alot of "denying" (the cap was already loose, that bolt already stripped, that rim was already bent, its not overfilled its filled to spec (as fluid is sitting above the MAX line), etc etc). I've learned that the dealer may charge 20% more but they'll stand behind their work 100%.
