So, the BSR PPC is a 'Tuner toy' and 'Don't think the software itself does anything so different from other upgrades'? :^) The revised software you upload via the PPC into the diagnostic connector remaps the boost and gives a large, very noticeable performance increase and the factory software can be uploaded again since it is stored in the PPC unit. This is often paired with a hi-perf drop in JR air filter to consider it to be a Stage 1 upgrade.
The Power Chip upgrade also has quite a few fans, although that upgrade requires mailing your ECU to them to perform the upgrade. Using overnight courier shipping in both directions minimizes your car's downtime. The performance increase is also quite noticeable, although it is less than the PPC (especially in the torque increase).
