Well 205/50/16 would convert to 205/45/17 wheels without messing up the speedometer too much. The 225/45/17 will make you go about 3 Mph faster than the dash reads at 60mph. That tire is a little taller and a little wider.

However, I think you would be OK, as long as the offset of the wheel is similar and the pattern size on the bolts.

I believe your 2000 93 has a 5 bolt - 110mm pattern. Just check to make sure the 17" rims also have that. If you do then they will physically be able to bolt on the car.

Next you want to make sure you have good clearance when turning and no rubber, rubs. The just remember you are going 3-4% faster than the dash says.
