'00 Viggen @ 63.5k - what I found about the MAF (long)

I've been keeping an eye on the recent threads about the MAF and blown motors on Viggens. I spoke to the mechanic that works on most of the Viggens in this area at the dealership and he gave me the % of devience for the MAF setting - it is 14% and cyl 1 starts to run lean. A few weeks ago I was playing with a Tech II on my car and I reset all the misfire, etc for all the cylinders (just pure luck for today).....today at lunch I borrowed a Tech II (not from the dealership) and played with it for about an hour. I found that my MAF sensor is out of wack - it is usually somewhere between -5% to a peak of 19%. I did data logging of the various sensors and when the MAF devience went above 14% there were misfires in all the cyl - with cyl 1 having 50% more then the others.
The car had it's 60k service...so plugs and everything is new, it has a K&N air filter, and the MP IC (which if intake temp is measured after the IC - it reduces temps after getting on boost super fast). The car is also CPO - so it'll be going in on Tuesday for a new MAF before the engine blows....a brief conversation today with the mechanic came to the conclusion that my engine would probably melt a piston if I took it up in the mountains this weekend and got on the boost.
