Thanks for the posting...
I replaced the first windshield due to lots of pitting and small stone chips -- I do a lot of highway driving throughout New England, so the sand in the winter does a number on your windshield. The pitting was to the point where I couldn't clearly see on a sunny day.
The glass company has agreed with you, saying it is clearly a defect in the car, not the windshield. I have an appointment with the local Saab dealer on Friday to have the windshield replaced by them.
I'd be tempted to say the crack would be a result of post installation stress, as the glass has not cracked for a few days after the installation, usually after an extended highway trip of 2 hours or more with the top down. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not...but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
Has anyone heard of a problem with the "A" pillar attachment before? Is this something that can break?
I'll try to take some pictures and attempt to post them tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted...
