I am sure the heat does not help but I still had to replace mine on the 9-5 at just over 80,000 km, covered under warranty thankfully. What intrigued me was that it was described as an "ignition module" on the invoice and the same description is used to describe an item that is part of the 6 year emission warranty. So I have been trying to find out if the DIC is part of the 6 year emission warranty. If so it could save a lot of people some money. Either way i still have my spare DIC.
