Base or an SE? Coupe or 5-door? Does it have auto-climate control or knobs? Tires good?
It needs the 40K service which is a minor service -- its good that it had the 30K service as it was a major service. I would dump the oil as soon as I got it and put some full-synthetic in there -- hopefully it was changed between 32K and 42K -- not a huge deal, but I would get an oil change as part of the deal. If its at a Saab dealer have them throw in the 40K service ($200).
At this price point its tough without the little details like tires and tread life etc. I would guess you could get as low as $8500 and make them throw in the 40K service. Check the classifieds on Saabnet for related pricing and check some closed Ebay auctions on a similar car to get a better feel for pricing.
