I have not see such reported before either. Vinyl dressings might be contributing to these problems in some cases. I would not assume that these things have no effect.

I have never put anything on the interior platics on my Saabs. I clean/dust these surfaces when cleaning the windows and use Windex.

The door pillar black exterior stick on vinyl that blisters may be from swelling caused by vinyl dressings, and oils from these may penetrate the plastic and soften the adhesive that then allows the plastic to lift and blister. This is a swelling problem. Vinyl does not naturally swell as it ages. Heat will certainly be a factor in this. I have my doubts that something in the adhesive/vinyl combination causes this, IE something in the adhesive migrates into the vinyl to make it swell and something in the vinyl migrates into the adhesive to change its properties. But the latter is not impossible as plasticizers in the vinyl are known to migrate and contaminate things. But applying vinyl dressings is really adding more platicizer. And we have all see what happens with some labels are applied to soft vinyls like electical cords. The labels adhesive in contact with the vinyl turns to goo, from the plasticizers migrating. Pure vinyl is brittle. Vinyl gets its soft properties from the addition of oils and other like materials to the plastic. So adding vinyl dressings just adds to all of that. And we know that plasticizers in vinyl are quite mobil. So adding surface treatments sould lead to the expectation that this will penetrate and change the bulk properties of the vinyl and also effect any substrates such as adhesives. We all know that anything oily will soften almost all kinds of 'stick on' adhesives.

And the dash can suffer from UV damage. The glass blocks most of this, but there is still the effect of solar heating and photo degradation. But as we have seen, the NG900 flamily does not have many reported problems with dash cracking.
