Well, my happy purchase of an '02 9-3SE quickly turned into a nightmare, and I figured I would share it with others...

I bought it with around 40,000 miles, for really good money. Had it serviced for some minor items a week after I got it - SID pixels, washer fluid leak, and a broken seat control panel. The only major problem was that there was a loud knock when turning left, immediately followed by another one when I finshed the turn. They lubricated and torqued the chassis, and decided that it's the driveshaft. Took it in after the part came, they installed it, then decided that it's the transmission (the final drive assembly). Took it it again (4th time now...), they installed the new transmission. Picked it up, the car was ok for 3 days, now the sound is back (not all the time, but happens at least 4-5 times a day), and my "new" transmission is doing wierd things when shifting 3-4th (like if it had a gear in-between). My mileage has also dropped to around 18MPH around town, from 21 before the last service... So, took it in again, now the dealer is telling me that there is nothing wrong with the transmission, and they can't duplicate the knocking...

In addition to all the rattles, the flexy chassis, I'm just really questioning my purchase. The warranty runs out in 5,000 miles, I don't think I will be keeping the car for that long. This was my first non-Japanese car in 10 years, and it's been in the shop more than on the road, it seems like... Oh well, sorry, I just wanted to vent...
