FWIW I had the clip for my passenger's side CV come loose, my boot was fine (no cracks) but it was allowing the grease to spin out. When CV joints click like you are describing, it is usually caused by bearing wear because of a lack of grease or contaminants getting inside the boot and wearing on the bearing surface.
Don't know how much it would cost for someone else to the work though... Saab CV's are no different than other CV's so you may try your indy or a local CV shop for prices.
If you have confidence in your mechanical abilities you can DIY for around $160 for a joint and boot kit from a site sponsor. Check the CV Link for an excellent guide with great pictures.
Also on you steering leak issue, tighten all of the screw gear clamps a turn or two then clean the areas around and under the power steering reservoir and rack with undiluted Simple Green and rinse with a Light (and I do mean light and gentle spray of water from the hose). I have a brass screw type water nozzle that works well for this. This way if your power steering fluid level drops, you will be able to better see the leak.
Just try not to get the water around the electrical connections.
Good luck,
Don
