Waterpump replacement woes..

I am up to six beers, and ready for some shots. Dean, I think you drink too slowly.
How does one get the metal pipe with the o-ring back into the inboard side of the waterpump housing or bracket or what ever you wish to call it? It just doesn't want to go back in.
And why did my Hemu wasserpumpen come with 3 o-rings and I can only find use for two? Is that a turbo thing?
