Oil Leaks/PCV/TSB/Should there be a 'secret' warranty? Posted by robin [Email] (#2944) [Profile/Gallery] (more from robin) on Mon, 1 Aug 2005 20:56:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
hey all... thanks to the board i was able to read all about the PCV and 3 different Saab TSB's for the oil leak/PCV issue, which is nice since last week when i took my 2001 9-3SE in for an AIRBAG warning light (which -is- covered by the unlimited mileage warranty) i was hit with a hefty bill for the oil leak repair, which wasn't covered. (my '01 has 65k miles, mobil 0W40 every 5k)... the dealer had the car for 3 days (and i paid for the rental), so i wasn't about to argue... i just wanted my car back... but in reading over the posts, i'm wondering if this is an inherent (and known) defect, and whether Saab should/is taking responsibility for this? i would assume when they issue a TSB, that's an acknowledgement that there's a (potential) problem... anyone have any thoughts? anyone successful in getting this 'repair' paid for by the company?
many thanks in advance!
