I don't know about your model year, but my 2001 required far more UNSCHEDULED warranty work than any other car I've ever owned, including the dreaded DI cassette failure that left me stranded. I disagree with the idea that Saabs are fine if you maintain them. I am the original owner and have babied and maintained this car meticulously, and all work has been done by very good dealers. The problem is with the design and engineering of the car and certain parts, which seem to be very inferior to many others including most Japanese and domestic brands. How many people driving those cars get stranded by ignition systems, need to replace dashboard knobs for hundreds of dollars, pulleys that wear out shortly after the warranty expires, pixel displays, head gaskets, and so on. At least Saab brakes seem to have good longevity. Look at the data and draw your own conclusions; I hope your car treats you well.
