This gosh dang thing is really starting to irk me. Aside from a ten foot hill of maintenance that I have coming up there are some problems that are just getting irritating and its been frusterating to correct them.
This spring my car developed a clunk in the dash when ever I went over a large, sharp bump. I thought that the instrument panel was loose so I took my dash apart and found that I had a broken mounting tab on the dash for the instrument panel. I drilled a hole in what remained of the tab, then connected the cluster to the dash with a zip tie. After I put it all back together the clunking was gone for a while.
I went on a camping trip about three weeks after this and had to travel down some awful, bumpy roads. This made the clunk come back. Yesterday I finally got around to checking it out. I took the whole dash apart only to find that the instrument panel was snuggly attatched to the dash. I put it all together again making sure to get everything nice and tight. This morning the damn clunk was still there and now my turn signals won't cancel.
What could this clunk be? It sounds like it is in the dash directly above the steering column, anyone ever dealt with something like this before?
Why the hell won't my turn signals cancel? If I am stopped they will cancel, but if I am driving they will not, at least the right one(I didn't have make a left turn this morning). Where do I begin my investigation to correct this?
