The key will work as others have said, but theres' something else you should be aware of:
The all-in-one key fob actually has a shorter transmission range than the old torpedo fob. To compensate, Saab installed a new receiver that went along with the new key to keep the range the same as it was. So if you use the new key with your older car, the range will be fairly short. Many have already considered the torpedo key's range pretty short - I don't know how close you'll have to be with this new combination.
That being said, if you don't mind being pretty close to the car when you lock it (which you probably should be anyway), there's no problem using the new style key.
