Fuel Pump Insert Interchangeability Q's

OK, read a lot of old posts, some of which allude to several different inserts being used and you can't tell which you need until you pull the pump. eEuro doesn't show an insert available. Parts Bin does but I don't want a Scan-Tech pump given the effort involved. Others discuss a Walbro from NAPA. Given the near-impossibility of pressing the hard fuel line onto the two-barb fitting, it seems to make sense to just buy the single barb one and change the fuel line to the more traditional type with clamps provided the diameters are close enough that the other end will fit the nipple on the housing. The PNs I see out there are 4161493, which incidentally eEuro stocks but doesn't show as suitable for this application ('94 2.5L V6) and a 5328885A which is the PN of the entire assembly with the letter suffix.
As much as I hate to do it, I will likely drop the tank to replace it which is extra hateful because I just filled the tank. If the floor pan over the pump was flat such that a C900 pump cover could be fitted, I'd consider going in through the floor.
