When you say slow acceleration do you mean that the engine is revving up while the car isn't moving much faster? i.e. The clutch is slipping? If the clutch is not slipping, I would recomend that you lubricate your throwout bearing and associated hardware. It is very easy to do, doesn't take long, and usually results in a huge improvement in clutch action and extension of cable life.
