Just got my car back from the dealer -- I had the SID replaced.

I also asked them to look at the soft top which stopped working out of the blue. They quoted me $1600 to fix it!!!! I'm still stunned. They said the pump drive gear, left fifth bow cylinder, and left main cylinder need to be replaced. Does this sound reasonable? It doesn't to me.

I also asked about my check engine light which came on a couple of weeks ago but never again. HOWEVER they managed to trace the fault to the trionic unit; said it needs to be replaced. Cost? $995.

The trionic unit sounds like something Steve Austin might use and I can't even figure out how they traced it since the check engine light has been off for weeks now. I will be taking my car to an indie mechanic, thank you very much.

I have had no problems with this car until this past year. Everything seems to be falling apart. Many little knobs and have broken off. And now these repairs... ARGH.

Just had to vent. Thanks.
