Jeff,
I don't think you will find a tire that significantly outperforms the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S in the high performance all season category (my personal experience and Tire Rack surveys), so if you feel it falls far short of the S-03 in real world driving, well, that pretty much answers your question. There are a lot of people who like to use dedicated summer and winter tires, and I can understand that, but just remember that with true snow tires on your Viggen, you will have less performance, longer stopping distances, and less margin for safety every day of the winter season when the road is dry or merely wet. So the perceived safety advantage of a snow tire over a performance all season is not a slam dunk. It's all a matter of averages and compromises. I use the Pirellis myself and really like them, but if I was going for a dedicated snow tire, I would focus on a performance snow tire rather than something like the Blizzak WS-50, which by all accounts really handles terribly on dry roads.
Concerning torque steer, you have probably maximized the improvement you will see with tires if you have been using the S-03 and Pirellis. I presume you have some form of the Viggen rescue kit, bushings, etc.?
