resides on a separate chip that is independent to the actual control programming--which resides in the main CPU. It is possible that there is a calibration address or information specifically for the IDM operation on that flash-able storage chip that would be affected but the actual equipment-control "smarts" of the system are stored elsewhere...and that's why my guess is no (from the info in the letter), of course I could be wrong too.
Best to ask the tech. what exactly is being reprogrammed/replaced.
