I have access to a laser cutter and a 3D prototyping machine- maybe individual parts cut out in self coloured material and bonded together or painted pieces with a covering of varnish similer to sands suggestion but use the self leveling epoxy varnish that you can pour on, only one thick coat needed! I could even cast the emblem in just about anything, from rubber to metal. the more I think about it the bigger it becomes... Again, collaborations are always fun.
