I had the same problem, can't shift out of parking even pressing the brake super hard. Then found out that my brake light won't go on at all, which explains why the shift lock happens, it locks up when the brake light is off.
So with the help of Dean and other Saaber's postings here, today I took out my brake light switch (turning clockwise, and then disconnect with the power), the switch was sticky and often got stuck at the off mode. I opened the switch (easy to open, with the help of a small screw driver) and clean up the buildups and residues on the metal contacts with a piece of soft cloth, and the switch works like new, the spring will bounce the switch out to on mode smoothly. put the switch back (turning counter clockwise), and shift lock problem is gone.
By the way, if you'd like to solve the shift lock problem temporarily, pull out the fuse #9 at your fuse boxe on the left end side of your instrument panel. The side effect will be "check gear box" light goes on. Drive in a limp mode.
But I recommend to fix the brake light switch, it's not hard to do, but takes some effort to open the lower panel cover and work in an awkward position where the brak pedal is.
Good luck.
