The following repair and pictures relate to other previous postings regarding dashboard rattle and instrument cluster removal.
I repaired the instrument cluster mounting brackets with epoxy glue armored with aluminum mesh. I first glued both broken brackets with crazy glue than I applied a thick coat of epoxy and the shaped aluminum mesh. I than applied other 2 coats to make it thick. I used 5 min epoxy that is fast enough to allow for quick subsequent coats. After a week the repair s holding well and I expect it to last for a long time (the whole bracket is much stronger now).
As regard the dismantling of the cluster I followed the 2004 post by Jeff. I would add that when reassembling the dash, to reconect the air duct properly it is necessary to remove the lower panel and fuse box and stick the arm up to hold the duct while pressing the dash in. Otherwise the diffuser will not go in the duct properly.
Cheers
Giovanni
