Car wouldn't start

Hey everyone, '96 900se here. Went to the mall, car was running fine. Came back out, tried to start car, nothing. One little click as I turned the key, nothing else. Also, initially, I smelled an odor, but it went away. Battery was not the problem, jump start would not work and radio/ac worked fine. Car has ~106k on it. Car went in two days before to fix the heater, heat would sometimes not come on until about 5 mins after car was started, not sure if the issues could be related? Replaced the timing belt recently, about the only thing that's been broken on it so far. Any suggestions on why it won't start?
