I've had the vent mod, then reversed it. Didn't seem to change the startup smoke.

But someone here (can't remember who) said his car quit smoking when he let the oil level down a little. He (& I) used to keep the oil all the way up to the 'full' mark. He thought it improved when he put the oil level somewhere less than full. (Not all the way down to the low mark.) I'm gonna try that after next oil change.
