Water leaking in the trunk follow up

I had a small water leak in the trunk. After many hours of testing and search, it turned out the water could come in the truck from three places.
Two were easy to find: one was from the driverside light assembly and from the air louvre box in the passenger side lower rear corner (the louvre allows air to exit the car when the fan is on and the windows are closed). The third place where water was coming in was via the inside of the trunk gasket. When pouring water in the thrunk side gutters, the water would go up in the gasket groove, run inside the groove down the gasket and then enter the car in both bottom corners of the trunk opening in the transversal frame. The transversal frame is made with two plates spot welded together and not sealed. There is a tiny gap in the joint through which water would seep in from the gasket groove and get in the transversal frame. It would then exit in the floor through a few vertical drains.
I reasealed both lights with a bead of silicon. The louvre box I think was missing an outer cover of sort so I cut a sheet of plastic from a shopping bag and secure it on the the box with a string. I left the bottom part open so air can exit but water can't get in.
I fixed the gasket leak using thin strips of stiky urethane (about 4mm dia used by bodyshops) which I put in the gasket before pressing it down on the frame edge.
I believe originally the gasket has some caulking inside the grove but it is lost/broken after various gasket removals.
It was a bitch of a job. Hopefully it will be better for others
Cheers
Giovanni
