Just did CV boot yesterday on my 95' 900s

With an indy come to my place, worked 5 and half hours to replace one cv boot and 2 front struts.

About the CV boot job, I think the most tricky part is the snap ring, spent a whole lot of time on it and finally the mechanic gave up and I just barely managed to pull it out as dip did (see the picture link at the bottom), basically forced one end into the groove and pull from the other end using a sharp grip, a nightmare! There should be an easy way to do it. After took the ring out, we used a brass stick as a cusion agaist the cv and hammer it out. I guess you can just hammer the cv out using a mallet all the way and just forget about the snap ring (make sure not pull the inner cv out of course).

Although I'm happy I experienced it, did it, I'd think very hard next time whether I want to do it again by myself.

By the way, I bought the CV boot from eEuroparts, good price. Local (Vancouver, BC) SAAB shop quote me 80+ C$ just for the parts.
