solid state type design - when they don't work, neither does the window. They arc slightly when making contact, so you could use something to polish the contacts, but again a switch is an on/off thing, not affecting speed (battery/wiring would cause all windows to go slower not just one.)
Motor is possibly worn, or something has gone out of alignment causing the glass to drag. Try using spray silicone on the vertical tracks and see if it runs good - if not I would replace the motor most likely depending on what you find in the door.
