I was looking at upgrading slightly, and have had friends go on an on about how great 9000s are. I had in my mind that it was the best car Saab has made, and was seriously looking for a late model manual transmission with all records, etc.
Well, 2 days ago I test drove a 95 9000 Aero manual in GREAT shape but 140K on the clock. I came away thinking that my 96 900S is just fine for the time being. I just wasn't that impressed. Frankly, since I am in the middle of the city, I just don't need the power (225 HP) that the Aero had. And, even though it isn't that much bigger, it just seemed too big. Yes the handling was very good, but it was just too bulky. Furthermore: my wife thinks they look and drive like oldsmobiles. No analog clock? You can even take the key out w/o being in reverse!
Yes I am just bantering here, and I am not meaning to offend anyone. Just a comment that I have realized that I really prefer the 900 / OG 9-3 body.
