First thanks to Dean and Swedecar for your input on our NG900 trans. failure.

I found the following description on; http://www.troublecodes.net/OBD2/Pcodes.shtml, for error code P1830; "Transmission Transfer Case Counter Clockwise Shift Relay Coil Short Circuit To Battery"

Is this a generic description? It does not fit the dealers description of 'gear malfunction, internal gear error". Or,,does it? This sounds obvious and I should be able to see it??

Where is the 'shift relay coil' they are referencing?
