Well, we all knew it was coming! At 81,600 miles my original DI cassette
started a partial failure. The car would miss, stutter, hesitate and occasionaly die at idle. It ran fine at anything above that. At first I suspected a vacuum leak or fuel delivery problem. I checked out all I could and decided to clean the idle control valve. It was dirty, about what I would expect for the miles and age. That was followed by replacing the fuel filter and running a can of injector cleaner through. Since I bought a spare a few years ago, I decided to swap out the DI and that did it. The car runs like brand new! I suppose I didn't think of this at first because we mostly hear of the car just dying totally when these go bad. Pics are in my photo gallery.
