is the popping sound when you are turning at low speed?
quick check: pop the hood and visually inspect the strut mounts (top of the strut towers) for cracks. you can also rock the car back and forth to see if the mounts move at all or make the sound you are hearing.
Eeuroparts sells them for $93 apiece. Make sure you get the bearings as well.
