With hot humid air the resistance can go down and the reduced O2 density also means the throttle is a wee bit more open which reduces the P.V throttle flow losses.
Tire pressure is very important.
The T7 get better MGPs than the T5 under any conditions. The T5 looses MPGs on cold winter days and in summer heat. The T7 just delivers better MPGs year round.
Synthetic gear box oil in manuals helps. Some old models will still have the old non-synthetic oils.
Draging brakes are an issue. The p-brake and rear calipers are troublesome.
Remove the stone deflector from 1/2 way back in the mid body (older models).
The M1 synthectics really can improve MPGs. But you also really need to run a xW40 oil.
Clean injectors and plugs in good shape.
10% ethanol may cost you 5 or 6% in reduced MPGs. Looks like we are all going to get screwed with that.
Keep speeds down, that really makes a difference. As for the fact that resistance increase as the square of the speed, note that if you go twice as fast, you get there in 1/2 the time, so its not as bad as one might think ;)
