The lower arms aren't too bad to get off. There are two bolts that connect it to the subframe and one nut above the joint. Don't separate the joint with a pickle fork because it can cause damage. Use a spreader. After the arms are off its easier to separate the leading and trailing sections.
I recall a discussion a while ago about actually replacing just the joint. It didn't seem easy to get out and I have never seen just the joint for sale.
