11x7x2mm (outside diameter, inside diameter, thickness)
If you can't find the metric size, there is a very close US spec o-ring you can get at Napa or any number of other part stores.
When refilling the reservoir to replace lost fluid, do NOT purge the air by running the engine immediately, b/c the pump turbulence will turn any air bubbles into foam and shorten the life of the new pump drastically. Instead elevate the front of the car so the wheels are easy to turn with the engine off, and turn the wheel slowly from stop to stop a few times. The pistons at the rack will push the hydraulic fluid (and air) slowly into the reservoir, and fluid from the reservoir will prime the pump. Then start the engine, and do the same thing w. the pump running.
If the pump actually ran dry and failed, it may have happened b/c one of the pressure lines had a small leak first. The pressure line can leak at the crimp joints, and the section of the pipe below the radiator and behind the bumper can rust through.
In any case, when the system ran low on fluid, the pump overheated. That caused the shaft bushing and seal (which is what passes for a shaft bearing in this pump) to fail, and a bigger leak. At the same time, the pump may have started to shed metal particles into the oil. If so, the hoses and rack should be flushed well w. new fluid to get as many of the wear particles out of the system.
