I installed Kappa 32.7's in the front and (just yesterday) 6012i's in the doors. I have not noticed any negative issues with the 2ohm fronts. Of course, I did not check the amp temperature.
The sound quality improvement is termendous with only the fronts replaced and it is super easy to do. The doors were a little more work, but once I did the first one, the second door took half the time. Now the sound is even greater, but I need some more bass.
I took the time to craft a custom connector. I soldered wires from the new speakers to the wiring tabs on the old speakers. I then drilled out the rivet attaching the connector to the factory speakers, cut the braided wire to the speakers and just plugged the new speaker into the harness with the original connector in the door. Saves cutting and splicing of wires.
