Which version(versions) of the Trionic engine management system does our 2000 Viggen and 2002 9-3se (205R engine..HOT?....A/T) have?
The 2002 (30,000miles) has recently developed a startup problem...it will start right up, run fine for a couple 3 seconds, then start running rough (misfire on a cylinder...or two maybe, a "sputter" according to my wife who is usual driver) which lasts another couple 3 seconds, then it's fine. This only seems to happen at first startup in the morning and it seems to run fine the rest of the day, altho wife did mention a rough idle a couple days ago (which led me to starting the car & listening!). It has the new DI. I installed new plugs (recommended NGK's), which didn't help. left it at dealers overnite, but of course it started fine in the morning according to them! I'm going to leave it overnite at dealers again and maybe show up to start it, but any suggestions on what to look for? I haven't tried a fuel system cleaner yet, or cleaned the TB, but will consider that . If this car has the T7 Trionic, could there be a connection between how it determines which cylinder to fire and this problem? No check engine light has come on.
My concern is that the misfire starts happening while driving, resulting in maybe damage to converter.
Thanks
