It does sound like power is being cut. The ingition switches of that vintage were a problem, that was the correct call. There was one report years ago of a battery cable corroding, inside the lead of the terminal/clamp. Did things like you report, but was not visible at a quick glance. Grab the cables and see if you can detect any loosness or movement.

Another possibility is bad ground connections. The ones of interest are to the A pillar. Pull door weather stripping and pull back carpet and and inspect the gounds bolted to the chassis. Check the battery issue first as that is the easier task. I cannot recall if this ground check requires removal of the cover above the petals... that is a bit tricky, working with black fasteners in a black hole. In the back left is a large plastic round retainer. In the center of it, there is small round part that one needs to push in with a small pin of some sort. After you do that, the retainer can simply be pulled outward. Do that before undoing all of the other fasteners so that it is not all hanging down on your face.
