Nice car, high price..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Mon, 19 Jun 2006 12:10:54 In Reply to: 9-3 base Vs. SE model year 2000., VolvoD, Mon, 19 Jun 2006 11:22:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yeah the non HOT 185hp 2.0 turbo has plenty of punch. You could be very happy with a non SE cloth Saab, sorta' minimalistic which ain't such a bad thing.
Strong price, sounds like a MB/BMW dealer who can't believe you can get that much car for that little, but it's a little too much, $1,500 - $2,000 too much, at least. Not another Saab dealer so I can meddle in the price thing, $7k would be "all the money" for a nice Saab like you describe, retail not wholesale, and one that doesn't need anything. Deduct any needed repairs or reconditioning or service from the $7k. Wouldn't surprise me a bit that the "high-end Euro" dealer has a couple of thousand to give.
I find very few trade ins with 63k that got the major 60k service performed 1st, so the car likely needs a 60k service. You said it has the maintenance records, is there evidence of the 60k? And just who has been doing the work? I'd consult them or even take the car back to them for a pre-purchase inspection.
